About Me

I am currently a Post Doctoral Fellow with a PhD in Immunology and Inflammation. I started this blog in 2012 when I entered university for an undergraduate degree. It has had several different names, and the content has changed over time to reflect the person that I have become and am becoming. My beauty budget has flowed and ebbed, I have learned new skills like macrame and added new laboratory techniques to my toolbox. 

I am passionate about women's health, learning foreign languages, and skincare. I write posts when I try things, because I know with the shopping environment we are in, reviews under a product can be skewed or even faked. I will always be transparent about any brand involvement in a post, including receiving free product, samples, or PR.

In short, I am a scientst with a lot of hobbies and a wide range of interests. I have the sweetest cat in the world. I am a plant mom with over 15 plants and I keep adding to my collection of green children with no end in sight. I speak several languages to varying degrees, from advanced French, to beginner Korean, to knowing only three words in Mandarin.

When I am not in my research lab, I am spending time at home with my husband and family. I like to unwind at the end of the day by looking after my plants and completing a few rows on my multiple, simultaneous crochet projects.
