Choc Choc Jewelry Review

Asymmetrical earrings are really trendy right now in South Korea. Or maybe they have been for awhile, and they're just now coming to my attention. Whatever the case, I saw on Choc Choc's instagram that they were starting to sell jewelry, which right now is exclusively earrings.
Choc Choc is a term in Korean for "well moisturized skin," and it is also a company in Chicago where you can buy a lot of K-beauty products. On their website I began to see so many cute options for asymmetrical earrings, including some reproductions of those worn by the members of Twice. Listen, if it relates to K-pop, I am there.
Their jewelry selection is fairly new, and is heavily promoted on its own independent instagram. However, it doesn't seem like there is a wealth in response, on the web. But I suspect they are selling the jewelry fast at their offline store. The displays I've seen on the gram are too cute to pass up.
I placed an order for two pairs:

Bold Smile Unbalance Earrings ($13, sold out, worn by Twice Da-Hyun)

Double Heart Unbalance Drop Earrings ($13)

They are both ultra cute, and took a very short time to get to me, which I appreciated. They were very carefully bubble wrapped, and Choc Choc even included several skincare samples, mostly from The Yeon, whose moisturizing serum I am eager to try :3
Back to these earrings! I was really pleased with the samples and the careful way they were packed, but the posts of the Bold Smile pair were bent in transit :'( However, they were easy to bend back, and have not gotten bendy since. Plus, they look very cute, and I got many compliments on them at work! I am sorry to say that as of this post, they are sold out, and I don't know if they will be restocked.

I like to wear this one on the left :)

The Double Heart earrings were cute as a button, but not what I expected. They're actually rather dainty, and I expected something bigger. All the same they look lovely when on, and I highly encourage everyone to try out the asymmetrical jewelry trend. It's edgy, cool, and hip. Do people even say "hip" anymore?

again with the longer one on the left :3

Browsing the web, and seeing so many different asymmetrical earring styles, I felt the itch to DIY and made several pairs of my own design. Stay tuned, because when I become I better teacher I might produce some tutorials. The pairs I favor most are the Bold Smile pair from Choc Choc, and a pair I made using gingham ribbon and an Eiffel Tower charm. I've made countless others: crystal hearts with wings, ice cream and pompoms.... it seems once I finish one pair another idea hits me!
And the best part are the compliments. It's cheesy and weird, but compliments on a DIY accessory really put some pep into my step. Crafting so happens to be a popular busy-task when I am trying to wind down at night but I am not tired. As a child I was basically a serial crafter. If I hadn't hot glued something to it yet, it was shocking. I was a fast learner, and I still distinctly remember my nanny putting butter on one of my hot glue gun burns. "Butter, y'all." -Paula Deen (and apparently my nanny too).

If you are not crafty inclined, then head over to Choc Choc's site and check out their jewelry selection.  Choc Choc is based here in the US, as they have an offline store in Chicago. And it's delightful to watch their story on IG! Their owner is adorable, and she is so friendly and helpful when introducing new product. When they started getting k-fashion inspired jewelry, I flipped my nugget. Not to mention, these earrings are super affordable, all of them seem to be under $15. And that is fantastic!  There are oodles of adorable picks, and I 100% approve. Go get you some k-fashion in your life.
