Your Good Skin Cica Repair Sleep Paste Review

I purchased Your Good Skin Cica Repair Sleep Paste with my own money.
My skin has been ravaged by the rough disposable paper masks I wear every day. We all have to wear masks as we return to work on campus, and after months, my skin has finally begun to protest. I started to break out in an odd acne/eczema hybrid in the areas where my mask touched my face, and I knew needed to take action.
I started being more consistent with oil cleansing and my skin care in general. I was desperate to keep the situation from getting worse, and eager to help my skin start its repair process. With these goals in mind, I immediately thought of one thing: centella asiatica. Cica, for short.
I needed something within the weekend, I didn't want to wait for shipping to begin to treat my skin. I also did not want to shell out a ton of money on Dr Jart Cicapair Cream, despite the fact that I absolutely love that product. I simply cannot afford it any more. So I got on Ulta and Google to search for cica products, and I found Your Good Skin Cica Repair Sleep Paste. I also liked the idea (and ingredient list) of Revolutions Cica Cream, but again didn’t want to wait for shipping. It’s super affordable though!
The Your Good Skin Cica Repair Paste is for overnight use, but my skin was in such poor shape that I applied it while I sat at my desk to work from home.  When you first apply it, it has a nice slight cooling sensation, which was a relief to my angry skin. You wait five minutes, then massage it in. Let me tell you it’s less like a paste and more like a heavy moisture cream.
The ingredients list is a bit disappointing for me. Centella asiatica extract is in the lower half, meaning there isn’t much in the cream. The ingredients list also includes petrolatum which is, as you might guess, Vaseline. That’s why this paste has a protective effect on the skin barrier and such a heavy feel. If I had the money to spend on Cicapair, I would have bought it instead.
While this did visibly improve the look of the current irritation, I am worried about the petrolatum clogging my pores later. Especially those on my chin! That's where my hormonal acne always pops up. So, I did more research and I am going to pick up the Too Cool for School Rules of Mastic at Ulta, for $8 might I add, cheaper than the $14 for Your Good Skin and with Centella asiatica higher in the ingredient list. TCFS Rules of Mastic also has no petrolatum in the ingredient list.

Overall, I don't recommend this product. Will I still use it? Yes, to apply on the eczema on other areas of my body. I hate wasting product, but this is simply not suited for my face. I recommend Dr Jart Cicapair if you have a big beauty budget, and Revolution Cica Cream or TCFS Rules of Mastic if you have a smaller budget. I am going to try to follow this next week with a skincare post for those of us working with masks on every day. Stay well, everyone!
