Skip or Snag: Dry Shampoo
I'm here to help you navigate the world of dry shampoo with a Skip or Snag post. I have tried all of these and finished every can I have ever bought. I think there's an empties post that needs to come up, too.
Pssst! Dry Shampoo: SKIP
I know, I used to rave about Freeman Beauty products, but this one misses the mark. It is piss poor at controlling oil and it does almost nothing. This was the dry shampoo of the 90s and it needs to stay there.
Not Your Mother's Clean Freak: SNAG
Of all the dry shampoos, this one controls oil well, smells nice, and even comes unscented! It doesn't leave your hair with an unpleasant grainy texture either, which is a deal-maker. At its price tag of about $6, its a great dry shampy.
Herbal Essences Color Care w/ Rose: SKIP
While this shampoo is an absolute champion, it leaves my hair with a NASTY stuck together/grainy texture. Its almost like a combination hair spray and dry shampoo. Its cheap, which is nice, but I detest how it makes my hair feel.
Batiste: SNAG
A good dry shampoo. At $7 its pricier than a lot of others, and there isn't a TON of product in the can, buuuut it does its job super well. It controls oil, it smells nice, and leaves hair feeling normal. It comes in a huge variety of scents, and even a pigmented formula for dark hair.
Tresemme: SKIP
Its nearly $6 for a can, there's not that much in there, either. That's the main reason I say skip this one: the product is good but there is just not enough of it!
L'Oreal Blowout Extender: SKIP
Another product that is just too expensive for the amount you're given. This one is also poor at controlling oil.
Suave Professionals: SNAG
Price tag is big at $6, considering that Suave is normally incredibly cheap. But this dry shampoo is pretty awesome. The powder in it is extremely fine textured, it smells beautiful, and it does a great job of controlling oil.
Those are the dry shampoos I can remember trying. Some I have bought multiple times. I will continue to use NYM and Suave Professionals. Try my Skips at your own risk!
